JEFFREY HESS studied vocal music at the University of Wisconsin--Green Bay and the University of Minnesota, earning a BA in Music Education and Applied Music, an MA in Vocal Performance, and is currently pursuing a DMA in Vocal Performance. He has arranged for choirs and shows across the Midwest. Mr. Hess has taught vocal music at all levels in the Midwest and in Europe, and is currently on the music faculty at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota. An active performer, recent solo performances include appearances with the Minnesota Orchestra and the University of Minnesota Bach Festival, as well as numerous major opera roles with the U of M Opera Theatre. Jeff is tenor section leader with the Minnesota Chorale, and frequently performs with the Minnesota Opera. He currently resides in the Twin Cities with his wife, composer Martha Helen Schmidt.
