Composer, arranger and trombonist, JOEY SELLERS has received the Gill Evans Fellowship in Jazz Composition, the Sammy Nestico Award, NEA, Meet the Composer and American Music Center Grants and several orchestral and jazz related commissions. His music has been performed and recorded by such diverse ensembles as Doc Seversen and the Tonight Show Orchestra, the San Antonio Symphony, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Saint Louis Brass, and the Airmen of Note. At eighteen years of age, he formed the Jazz Aggregation, an 11-piece ensemble to perform his original music. He has performed and recorded with that ensemble in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. He has written for, recorded and performed with the Kenny Wheeler Large Ensemble, Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra, Joanne Brackeen, Liam Teague, Satoko Fujii Orchestra, Tony Malaby, Conrad Herwig, Allen Vizzutti, Bobby Shew and Dave Libeman. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Music at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.
