(Level IV) Tunnel Vision is a modal jazz composition inspired by the fusion groups Yellowjackets and Steps Ahead. A floating melody sits atop a heavy 12/8 Afro Cuban fusion groove, driven by a catchy ostinato bass/left hand piano line, and a bridge that swings. Transposed solo changes are included to feature your best soloists, no matter where they sit in your band. Lead Trumpet plays written high F. Optional, yet highly recommended, parts for guitar and vibes. Recorded on Tunnel Vision (Mizzou Jazz Studies) by the University of Missouri Concert Jazz Band.
