(Level IV) A straight-ahead swing chart composed and arranged for big band that was arranged from the original quartet version recorded by Irom's group, The Jazzaholics. Drums are featured at the opening and toward the end of the tune, and the saxophones have their moment to shine with a challenging yet exhilarating sax soli. This chart is a great opener for any advanced big band.

BENJAMIN IROM a native of San Bernardino, California, Benjamin Irom currently resides in Austin, Texas where he is currently working on a doctorate in composition/Jazz Studies at the University of Texas. Mr. Irom received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Santa Cruz and a Masters of Arts in Music from the University of California, Los Angeles. He studied music composition with David Cope, Peter Elsea, Elaine Barkin, Ian Krous, Paul Real, Donald Grantham and most recently with Richard Lawn. Prior to his present position as assistant instructor of music theory at University of Texas, he served as adjunct instructor of music theory at Riverside Community College in California. Benjamin is the keyboardist and principal composer for the Jazzaholics, an Austin-based jazz quartet whose modern sound is intended to bring the art form of jazz to a new stylistic level.
