(Level IV) This original composition was written for the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop in New York and uses modified big band instrumentation. Five saxophones play various doubles (flutes, piccolos, and clarinets), four trumpets, French horn, three trombones (including bass), percussion, piano, bass, and drums. Extended flute solo section can be opened up to accommodate other solos. 8 Brass

BILLY KERR, a versatile musician, is an accomplished jazz artist, composer, arranger, and clinician. Brooklyn born and raised on Long Island, he completed his studies at the Juilliard School of Music and Queens College. For 18 years he wrote and performed with the New York Saxophone Quartet, in addition to his steady work in the Broadway Theatre. Billy has performed in concert with numerous pop and jazz artists, while maintaining a busy schedule in the New York recording studios. Billy is a performing artist and clinician with Keilwerth/Boosey & Hawkes now residing in Montreal, Canada. The Billy Kerr Quintet has just released a new CD entitled, The Eagle Has Landed...Eh! by Productions Bilanci.
