(Level V) This piece was designed to be a mini-concerto for Ed Neumeister. It utilizes the pixie-mute/plunger set up (a la "Tricky Sam" Nanton and Quentin Jackson), in a darker, more dissonant harmonic palette than normal. The solo requires flexibility over a couple of unusual scales and has a free cadenza at the end. For the adventurous director who has an adventurous trombone soloist!! Alto 1 doubles flute and soprano, alto 2 doubles clarinet, tenor 1 and 2 double clarinet. 8 Brass
