APRIL ARABIAN-TINI is a vocal educator and solo artist. She is currently a memeber of the Department of Music faculty at Wayne State University in Detroit where she teaches voice and directs the vocal jazz ensemble, Jazz Invoice. She also recently directed Oakland University's show ensemble, Meadow Brook Estate. April has held faculty positions at Berklee College of Music, Northwestern University and Western Michigan; and she worked as a clinician and performer throughout North America, Europe and Japan. April has sung on national television and radio commercials and with the symphony choruses and Boston and Chicago. She received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Western Michigan University where she directed Gold Company and GCII. April serves as the jazz and show choir representative for the Michigan chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, and recently served as co-chair of the vocal committee for the International Association of Jazz Educators. April performs regularly in jazz groups and remains active as a writer, director, performer and clinician in today's vocal jazz and show choir movement.
