(Level III) This a cappella arrangement of the National Anthem has been performed for various professional football and baseball teams. The interesting harmonic twists make it sound more difficult than it is. The arrangement climaxes with a soprano singing on a high G. Although the voicings are altered in a jazz style, this piece is guaranteed to please even the most conservative listener. SSATBB

BILL 'ORANGE' LYONS received his bachelor's degree from the Berklee College of Music in 1983 where he was the recipient of numerous vocal awards. He also arranged and performed for the Berklee Jazz Choir and directed the Berklee Jazz Korale. Bill now resides in the Los Angeles area where he is a writer, arranger and former vocalist for the a cappella jazz group, Terra Nova.
